Core HR key notions

All data stored in Cegid HR Core HR are available for being read through API calls.

There are two version of API (V2 and V3), but both are usable the same way.

tip

The V2 Core HR apis are only OutBounds APIS, to have both OutBounds and Inbounds APIS you should use the V3.

Access to all outbound V2 apis through Cegid HR public postman collection:

Choose a workspace and fork the collections and relevant environments of interest.

If you are wondering about how to use Postam have a look at : Postman collection

Key notions

Core HR is a customizable core HR and employee data management system: it enables you to manage employees, their lives within the company and any HR events that may have an impact on them. It tracks all changes in employee data and situation in order to provide a precise history on employees files.

Several key notions are required to understand how Core HR works:

  • Data sets and fields
    • All employee data is grouped together in data sets (a group of fields on the same theme). These data sets can include sub-sets, depending on the data type.
    • All data saved in a data set corresponds to a record.
  • Records and data versions
    • Each record corresponds to a set of data for an employee.
    • There are three record types: non-versioned, continuous versioned and discontinuous versioned.
  • Templates
    • A template is applied to an employee file and is used to define which data sets to display and fields that are visible and/or mandatory per section.
  • Libraries
    • A library is an element of Core HR, bringing together data used in the module's drop-down list fields.
  • HR events and HR actions
    • An event is an administrative process carried out by HR staff in relation to an employee, which may have an impact on data in the employee file.
